Guided Goitside

about

Guided Goitside was developed from a series of open discussion and mapping sessions, initially based around Jeff Nuttall's 1968 book Bomb Culture, and seeking to unearth an alternative, vibrant and politicised picture of culture in Bradford, from the 1960s to today, as a counter to a sanitised view of culture-led regeneration. This resulted in an alternative guided walk around ‘Goitside’ – an area of Bradford earmarked for a regeneration programme that never happened.

This audio version of the walk integrates storytelling, community history, field recordings, sound and music to reflect on Bradford's countercultural history and explore the relationship between culture and regeneration.
